How do you go about removing it? I want to remove it and weld the flat spot that rides on the Throttle Quadrant. Then file it round again. Have a new Throttle Quadrant on the way.

Wow...Yours is wore deeper then mine. The steal ball is a good idea. Im debating on welding it to build it up...Then file it round again. Dont really want to remove it..

Yep the guy I bought mine from didnt take care of it. I kick myself for buying it, but I know allot more about 9Ns than I would have..... .5K later

I was much wiser when I bought the 2N, not caring if I got it or not made the deal sweeter.

If I could have got the rivit out I would have replaced the piece..... .

Mine was worn pretty bad. I tried removing the rivit but could not get it out. I was worried I would screw it up worse.
I put a drill point the same diameter as the hardened steel ball in the lever. I used JB weld to hold it in and fill up the rest of the worn area. The ball sits just high enough to ratchet on the quadrant now. I also took a dremel to my quadrant and made the lines a little deeper for the ball to catch in.

But as you know I still aint done with the tractor.....

Maybe this will be helpful.

P.S. Got your tractor going faster with those small rear tires yet? You remember, just like the motor cycle with the smaller rear sprocket?

I thought only the 8N's had a steel ball? I see Dennis carpenter is selling a repro now. Might just get me a new one.Mine Has been stick and was having trouble to get it to low idle. Lubed all the linkage point on the throttle control rods it is working better. Wont stay at full throttle...Starts to creep back twords inle on its own.
