put transmission fuild in 1,2 cyl and see if it leak down fast, if it leak down in few mintue. I would say yes rebuild.. but if stay up over night.. I would said it valve job, head gasket job. you can do all this in frame

Your probably jumpping the gun on an engine over haul. Most of the time a problem like that is a simple fix. Like the others have said head gasket, stuck valve, weak valve springs etc. Not long ago I had a problem like that on an 8N and it was caused by a broken valve. Replaced the valve and the valve guide and all is well now. Cost me around $50 total to fix the problem and the big cost was the gasket set. I picked up a good used valve and guide for $10. My self I would open up the engine and have a look it could well be a $50 or less fix, unless of course you know for sure that the engine is wore out and even then you need to open it up before buying a kit just so you know what may have been done to in in the past.

You really need to pull the motor apart before you buy any parts . Like the other guys have said , it might be a stuck valve or bad head gasket and may not need sleeves and rings .

The rod and main bearings may be perfect or wasted . The sleeves may need to be .005 oversized and theres no telling what size the bearings are now .

Having NO compression in two adjacent cylinders can be caused by a failed head gasket.

Pull the front side cover to see if the valves are stuck. If they are ok, I'd pull the head to see if the head gasket is blown between 1&2.
