Oil psi problem

bought a 51 8n, when you first start it about 40# psi after 5 min dropes to 5# & stayes there! changed the oil & filter found no oil in the filter canester blew out the oil lines "all clear" new oil filled canester Same thing Were's the problem??? thanks for any info!

As long as you have 5 psi and no knocking sounds I'd leave it alone. 5 psi is enough. EEA

Based on my own experience with similar oil pressure drop, I would expect a problem with a worn crankshaft and or bearings. Best idea is to pull the crankshaft, take it to a machine shop and have it "miked" and if necessary turned. Oversize main rod bearings are available at a reasonable cost.
