I got a 49 8N Just rebuilt the carb cause it wouldn't run with the choke off and now i'm having trouble starting should I try new spark plugs?

Thanks for the tips I bought new plugs and it started (still with a bit of trouble)I think that I just had it flooded real bad Once its warm it starts no hesitation I think that the plugs were half of the problem they were pretty old

As old said,.. ceck for spark.. if spark is good.. think fuel.

Then compression.. etc.

Well first off make sure you still have a good brite white/blue spark. The check that you have gas out the bottom of the carb by removing the drain plug. If you have both then maybe new plugs. Also you might try pulling the intake tube off the carb and with it OUT OF GEAR hold your hand over the carb and try to start it. Then go from there

Is there a fuel shut-off valve that you forgot to turn back on? But, yes, new spark plugs are good, but it may not be them. Maybe the float is stuck in the carb. Maybe some dirt migrated into the intake area, or maybe there is a blockage in the gas tank cap, like a little Mud-dauber egg, just laying in that little breather hole, waiting for spring to pop out and fly away! They get in there even if the machine is inside the barn! Don't ask me how--i'm not a mud wasp.
