Bob, in late September I requested some information for a wiring digram 12 volt neg. ground for a NAA. You were kind enough to foward the wiring digram. I removed all the bird nest wiring and purchased a 12 v. coil, 194 bulb, new ign. and new light switch, used 10 and 12 ga. wire as directed. A amazing thing happened when I turned on the gas and the new ign. switch to the on position the 194 bulb glowed I then hit the starter button the engine turned about a half a turn and started the 194 bulb went out, ran smooth as silk. There is hope for the untrained with help from the nice people on this site. Thanks

Oh lordly you mean you did'n have to hock the farm to convert it to 12Vs and sheet canned the dreaded 6V system. You will injoy your newly upgraded efficient modern system,,, parts are EZ to come by and cheap,,, even when your engine are ignition system gits tired it will fire off and run when a 6V set up will put ya to walk'n. The 6v nuts seam to for git pert neer the whole 12V charging system is in one compact unit,,, 2 to 3 times more charging output,,,, not strung out form one end of the tractor to the other,,, the alternator and regulator can B replaced for less that $50 at enny parts store 7 day a week in some places 24/7,,, the junk yards are full of replacement parts why cuzz multi millions of pieces of equipment run the same tried and tested system and when the machine was wore slap out the charging system took a lick'n and keep on tick'n,,,, can B tested for free ,,, ain't that amazing

Bobs is one of the best,,, Soundnguy has also got me threw some difficult problems with lectric problems.

I recently fried my newly purchased jubilie when I mistakenly put a 12 volt battery in place of the 6 volt one. I crank it over and soon discovered that she wasnt going to turn. Since I fried it I decided to upgrade to the 12 volt system. What besides replacing the starter, alt and wire harness, coil would need to be replaced?

Thanks

NO need to replace the starter. WE never do when we (ah,hem) 'upgrade' to 12 volt.

Chancesr are good that you only fried the v/r and points..... maybe the coil. So, if you want to fix it, it will cost you $50 - $60. What's the 12v conversion going to cost?

The original 6-Volt starter and solenoid will work just fine with 12-Volts. You'll need to convert to a 12-Volt charging system, and add a resistor to theprimary circuit, or get a TRUE 12-Volt coil.
