9nI02535, not stuck but not running, needs resTLC, Sherman hi-lo, 6' 3-point blade, 5' brush hog, $500?
It's a tired little girl but solid, outer rims are shot due to calcium chloride, pretty good tin but no doglegs. Looks like original lights - hard to tell.
Pusher fan, I-beam radius arms, someone hs converted to running boards and both brakes on the right/clutch on the left.

Said it needs a dizzy to run. Should Santa bring this lot home?

Am I crazy?

If the serial number is 9NI02535 it is a 1942 2N.
1942 2N serial numbers were 9N99047 to 9NI05411.
Is a good deal!!

Gun,

The sherman if in good shape is worth a grand on ebay. If you just bring it home and part it out you could get about 2500.00 for it. That"s if the motor has no cracks. I wouldn"t have walked away without handing the guy five hunnerd. But now since you done walked off at least for kicks see if he will take four hunnerd for it. Then send me fifty bucks for consultation fee. ;) Go git that thang now before it"s too late!!!!! !!

I hope the electrics are in good order on that machine.. if you get it..

Not so lucky there. It has a homemade 12v conversion on it and various toggle switches in the dash to get it to run. My guess is that's why she's not presently running. He said he was running it and it shut off, and he left it where it stopped. A local 'expert' told him the distributor 'burned up' due to no fan shroud third party image Probably smoked the 6v coil with that 12 setup or suchlike.

The distrib din't burn up due to lack of fan shoroud.. however an improperly implemented 12v conversion could have deffinately let the smoke out of a few things.. real easy to check though.. and verify / fix.. unles it was a nuclear meltdown I wouldn't think the distribuitor is physically damaged, beyond some 'wear' aprts.. etc.

Well if you have the $$ then why don't you have it yesterday. Just the hog is probably worth %250 so from there you only have $250 in it and thats just one or 2 parts. Plus the sherman is worth $500 or more

No, it's all 9N. At some point someone converted it with some kind of kit setup. I'll take some pics when I get it. The question was really retorical - it's a no brainer for me. It's about 500 yards from my house (I just moved) which is a pleasant change from my usual 1000+ mile trips to get stuff.

The Sherman and implements are worth more than the asking price. The tractor is just a sweetener on the deal. I'd go for it I saw that deal close to home.

8ns have breaks on the right side, and 9n/2n have a break on either side.

Post a pic of what you have... you might have a hybred with a 9n/2n front end, and an 8n tranny and back.

was it 3sp+R or 4sp+R tranny?

500$ is good.. the sherman is worth more than that by itself..

Soundguy, I kinda get the hint that he doesn't want it if the breaks are not right. That could be a haggling point with the seller. Potential buyer = "Oh Darn The Breaks Are Not Right must not be original so would yah take fifty bucks for it". Seller = "No a guy came by fifteen minutes ago and he's comming back with his trailor, dun sold it!". Boy have I heard that a time or two. Last tractor I wanted to buy sat for years with no one wanting it. The second I thought and went to go look at it I was five minutes too late. It's like something gets in the air and everyone wants the same thing at the same instant. Down here in Louisiana we call it the GRee GRee. Don't mess with the GRee GRee! Hope you get it.

It's the same here in florida. Something can set with no bites on it for a year.. and if i stop and look at it, 3 other trucks pull over.

It got to the point so bad that I was missing good tractor deasl by the minute.

I remember passing a tractor ont he way to work.. was basically already late so tookt he tel # down, and called the guy asked about the tractor, all sounded good, and price was good enough to buy site unseen, as it were. I told the guy it was sold, and that i got off work ( for that shift) in about 45 minutes, left him my #, and told him I'd drop by on the way home and pay for it, and then COME BACK with my trailer.

15 minutes later the guy calls back in and said he sold it!

After that shenanigan, next time i passe done i wanted, it happened to be at a used tractor dealer.. I went ahead and paid for the thing on my credit card right when I saw it. Dealer said he'd hold it for me till I get back with my trailer.. but I said.. NO.. I'm paying now so it's mine!
