PTO/ORC Coming Out?

My overunning coupler seems to be working its way from the main housing. It was up close and snug when I baught my "new" Jubilee. After using the PTO for mostly bush hogging and mowing on weekends for the past two months, the over running coupler I noticed seemed to look different. Some grease has leaked out, as I have greased it only once. There seems to be a gap (about 1/2"-5/8") between the cup of the ORC and pto shaft cover. There seems to be no more play than normal or abnormal operation of the ORC, just a change in the longitudinal position like its wanting to come out. Could it be the ORC or the PTO shaft? Or have I just lost my mind? Looks like it should be an easy check looking at the diagrams...remove four bolts basically, check bearings, snap ring, shaft, etc?? Any thoughts?

Reid..... ...sounds like you are on the right track. I agree 1/2 spaceing where there was essentually none before definately needs to be looked into. My best guess at this time is your PTO shaft bearing snap-ring has un-snapped. Park your tractor nose down in a ditch so all the fluid runs forward and unbolt your PTO and slide it out.....

Hope this helps..... .Dell
