I grew up on an early 9n ford.Dad baught it in the spring of 1940 in upstate New York at a farm auction.It was said to have about all the optional equepment oh it that was available.As i remember standing beside my father on the clutch side the step a lot longer than any I have seen in any picture.I feel it was wider and went all the way back to the brake shaft. The one on the muffler side seemed to have a step down over the muffler.Were there ever sutch steps or am I mistacken about them? Thanks SC Bob

It sounds like you are remembering the step boards used for the factory cab and as are pictured in Sean (TX) picture. The top and supports for the cab were metal but the sides were canvas that snaped to the cab and those step boards

Wayne;

Those are aftermarket step plates, and will fit a lot of dif. tractors.

Just depends on who is selling them!!!third party image

Hi SCBob;

You memory is correct about the running boards. I was always told they were for under a loader to keep your feet dry when scooping manure. (ie. bigger wider and longer) Regardless, see sight below as tractor with those running boards for sale. I am in no way related to or have any interest in the tractor for sale. It is just a picture.

Very weak. I have a set and they bend if a good sized man steps up on them..Need reinforcement under the bottom. Not worth the $..

Bob..... ..since 9N's did NOT come from the factory with running boards, but were installed by the dealer, they could have been made as you describe. Howsomevers, currently available 9N/2N stepboards hang from the footpegs. They are NOT the same a 8N stepboards, but 8N stepboards can be fitted to 9N's without much problem..... ..Dell

Or you can look for some 8n running boards and put them on your 9N
