Does anyone know how much if any slop is ok to have when replacing outer (smaller cup on spindle) cup? If none at all is the answer, is there a way to build up the spindle or glue for the lack of a better term the cup in place?

Sorry, I should have said that yes when I tried the cup or race, the bearing was inside it.

You can ping the hub till the race fits tight,,,, use a chisel, center punch or Like I do a air chisel and ping it up rite good all the way around and drive the race in. You could use JB weld,,, I don't use JB don't have the time to wait for it to set up,,, I use loc-weld I speck the same stuff but sets up hard in 5 min,,, if the temp is warm. I think I did see some fast set JB at Wally world last time I was their,,,I would still ruff up the surface tho.

Thanks for the reply. What about looseness between the cone bearing and spindle. Can I tighten up the castle nut to hold it in place or any other solution there? I"m not sure how tight those two should fit since the bearing is always turning. Should the cone bearing have to be driven on or can it be a little sloppy on the spindle?

tad loose wont hurt a thang on a tractor,,, other applications may vary. If it would not slip on then the spindle would need clean"n up,,, Run the adjusting nut up good and snug to seat the BRG then back off 1/8 a turn or so,,, rock the tire top to bottom till you find no movement then back off till you feel just a little,,, lock it down. No preload is needed,,, play wif it till you git the feel.
