Can anyone tell me if its a problem to reuse a grease seal if the rubber is not torn up for a front hub and also I don"t remember which side goes into the hub against the race and bearing, rubber side or steel side towards bearing.?

I've noticed some people on ebay charge a crazy S&H charge but only ask a fraction of what the item should cost. Apparently they don't have to pay ebay & Paypal fee's on shipping, only on the final sale price. I bought a Sling Chair for $1, $18.95 S&H. Cost just a few bucks to actually ship it.

A person could cram a lot of stuff in one of those PO boxes for around $4 but not many vendors bother using them.

Don't get me started on shipping. I bought a new dashboard for my 61 Impala from California. It was defective. They charged me $35 to ship it to me, It cost me $4 to ship it back.

Sometimes the old is better than new! If you don't believe that you gotta get older. One time I was going on long trip 1200miles. Tires didn/t look too good. Got a new set of JC Penny specials. 2 of em didn't make the trip. Other 2 lasted about 2 weeks. JC Penny gave me cash refund and put the old ones back on reluctantly. Lasted quite a while.

I&T FO-4 manual, pg.106, fig.#162,....Shows a diagram of the front wheel assembly, and how the bearings, etc., goes together.

As far as reusing the old parts: , If ya went to the trouble of taking them apart, why not buy/install new parts !! Then you won't have to do it all over, when the old part fails.

Gary :)

Thanks for all the replies. Too many kids to pay for a 20.00 seal if not needed. New bearings and cups I'll spring for. Thanks for your help.
