Anyone want rare Ford 9N tractor? It has live hydraulics and power down on 3 point. Must have many upgrades!

"Ford 9N tractor with loader, runs good, has wide front end, 3 point, pto, has live hydrolics, power down on 3 point. Good tires. Sheet metal in good condition. Newer style loader. $4,200.00."

You know what.. I'm going to go out on a limb here and make the following assumptions

the 'live hyds' he is talking about may be a stinger mounted pump for the LOADER.. thus live loader HYDS.. I'm also guessing he may be trying to say hyd bucket / power down on the laoder.. not the 3pt..

No email on craigslist.. but the add is fairly deceptive the way it is listed.

Hmm..

In the realm of possible, could have:

live pto via dearborn pinion clutch.

could have live hyds from an engine mounted pump.

really stretching, the entire hyd ram setup could have been replaced to make it have downpressure.. or external cyls... however highly unlikely.

I got to email this guy and find out if he is a schiester.. or just ignorant.

The "rare" part is the price. Seems to me that about 1/4 that price would be attractive.

It also has live hydraulics and power down on the the PTO. He could have the Live Thang from Zane for live hydraulics, but I haven't figured out how he gets power down on the PTO.

Here is the exact quote:(Cut and paste from his ad)

"has wide front end, 3 point, pto, has live hydrolics, power down on 3 point"

Nowhere he says power down on PTO just on 3 point.

One way to power down a PTO is to disconnect it with the engagement lever.

That is the only thing that makes sense, roger, and I am glad you figured that out.

I would have called him a bald faced liar.

Roger,

I guess you and I have different interpretations of "power down"! I interpreted it as meaning hydraulic power down. These Ns have power up (hydraulics) and only gravity down, no power down.

My original assumption is that he doesn't know what he has and is trying to find an uninformed buyer.

You were claiming a "power down on the PTO".
Power down on the three point hydraulic lift is what he was claiming and that is possible with remote hydraulics (but not easy).

It's very easy to put down pressure on the 3 point , he probably has a remote for the front bucket, with a two way valve, just hook a hydraulic ram to the 3 point. Stan
