I love the U.S.A. but what does it matter if our Ns run on the orginal parts or over seas parts as long as they or running NS WILL RUN FOREVER?

R.G.M.,
I have to agree with the already mentioned comments about domestic made parts being better than the foreign made parts. I'm getting ready to do a tune up on my 52 8N and I'm hoping that the place where I bought my tractor will have all the itmes that I need, but more importantly if they don't say made in the U.S.A. i'm not going to buy them.

Like GahorN mentioned about the Pilsbury example, I seen the same type of thing happen when they closed the doors to General Motors (Delco Remy) in Anderson, Indiana after my dad retired from there in 1994. In an effort to cut expenses many companies also seem to cut quality and outsourcing just doesn't seem to be a wise business decision in some cases.

Like many others here I plan to keep my N running as long as possible, hopefully as long as I'm alive.

Have a great week and good luck with finding your prefered choice of parts.

I care. I don't want my fellow Americans flipping burgers because tractors/parts are made overseas. I'd rather pay a few dollars more and keep my neighbors employed.... so they can buy MY work-product! (Besides... if our neighbors are at work.... they don't have time to break in and steal our stuff!) (just joking)

When Pillsbury shut down their U.S. mfr'g plants and starting making Orange Sweet rolls in Mexico... do you think they passed the savings on to their American consumers? H e l l no! They laid off 3200 Americans making $8/hr and pay Mexican workers 45-cents an hour, but kept their prices the same. (They also cheapened the product by switching from real oranges to "orange-flavoring".) Grrrrr!

I have quit buying Pilsbury products.
The Pilsbury doughboy went over-the-hill and is a traitor.

You won't find these china parts(or where ever they come from) last as long as the original. When it comes to eletrical parts, seals, etc. They just don't hold up..

R.G.M.

I agree with the basic thought, but I have some "issues" with some of the non-USA parts such as the recent purchase of a fuel shut off / sediment bowl that did not shut off the gas. I had to re-work it to make the darn thing do its job. Even more aggravating, the carburetor that I can’t seem to get to stop leaking gas when the tractor is shut down and air when running. I have yet to figure that one out.

Hello,

Well what got me a while back was when they changed the name of one of our local roads. The name of the road was Jap Rd. Somehow it got brought up at one of the police jury meetins to change the name. No one had complained about the name of road but the local polititians though it would be a good idea, just in case someone one day found it offensive. What a nice little world we live in ain"t it? Way too many idiots out there runin the country with sooo much time on their hands. The workin man has been way too busy with his two job houshold to look up and see what direction the country has been going.

Mark.
