There a good number of brands of loader to fit the N series tractors. Ford at one time made them as did a number of other companys. Larry just drop by some time and drive this 8N I have you you will find you will not like it. Hard to steer if you have any thing in the bucket. Plus it doesn't have live 3 point or live PTO which for what you want a tractor for would not be any good for you. You need to find a 601 or 801 series ford model 661 or 861 which would have both live PTO and HYDS plus could also have power steering

AFAIK, you can still buy NEW a new loader that will fit an "N", perhaps WOODS or Allied/Farm King.

You might want to check with a local dealer that sells small tractors. They can almost certainly find you something that will fit, if they are willing to look/call their suppliers.

In my opinion, the 8N is not a good machine for a front end loader. The front end is not designed for the extra load and it will be VERY hard to steer. I have a Ferguson loader that I took off mine. I would look for a newer tractor if you have to have a loader.

If you only knew how much dirt and gravel I have moved with an 8N and Davis loader, you would re-think that statement.

As I posted before, the "trick" is to "use" and not "abuse the loader/tractor.

We have just purchased a Davis 101 A loader for our 9n Tractor. If anyone knows how to mount this to a 9N I would appreciate an email. My husband and I are not sure how it is to mount. Thank You in Advance. Melanie

Bob,

I agree that loaders are nice to have. For my uses, the loader was more hindrance than help. I have never used a Davis loader, but my Ferguson was not practical for me. I had it on my tractor for about a year. I took it off and have not put it back on since.
