Is there any trick to removing the front axle spacer in the support and the oil bushing in the center axle other than using a chisel? Mine are shot and would appreciate any ideas to keep me from messing anything up. Thanks for the help its a 8n

Mine took a whole lot of sweating, and beating, with a short piece of water pipe that I cut, and a BFH, if I recall correctly.

And there were times that I didn't think it would come out.

Don't forgit the penetrating lube, and it seems like I found a way to knock the tang on the front where the bolt goes back and forth a few times both ways, before I got it started moving.

If you are talking about the pivot pin, I just replaced mine. I figure it was original as I could not get it out still attached to the tractor. The FO-4 has some humor in it with the guy using the hand crank and a hammer to take it out. I had to pull the front support and axle center piece off as a unit and use the smoke wrench and a big freakin hammer to get the old one out. The bushing was almost worn completely away on one end. I just used a chisel to roll out the old one. Really helped out my N...rebuilt the rest of the front end at the same time too!

I used a socket that fit in the hole and drove it out
