Is it possible to convert a 1940 Cast aluminum dash set up to the newer steel?? By changing upper components??

So is the starter button on my 41...You could go with a cast iron one too...Thats what I have on my 41. Just replace the tranny top cover along with the shifter and everything above it.

Does your 1940 have the starter button next to the shifter? Then I'm sure you could change the upper steering housing out without a problem. I know of someone who did. If it doesn't have the button, then you will need to change the transmission cover too. Your tool box will either need to be updated too or remounted as the aluminum dashed tractors took a different one than the steel dashed.

Ron, Did you just buy one off ebay this morning? I was watchin a dash and a hood from the same guy. I bought his hood for like fifty bucks. Didn't need the dash but I should have bid on his dog legs.
