I have a 9n with a Sherman step-up unit...does anyone know what the groundspeeds are while using the unit?

Can't give you a number, but four-high on an 8N is also known as "Ludicrous Speed." Third gear is merely "Ridiculous Speed."

es

"Ludicrous speed? Sir, we've never gone that fast before. I don't know if this ship can take it."

I have a 2N with a Sherman Step-Up tranny. I've had it travel clocked with 2 different vehicles which both showed the same following results: This was on level ground running at full throttle. 3rd high 20 mph, 3rd regular 15 mph, 2nd high 10 mph, 1st high 7 mph, 2nd low 5 mph, 1st low not clocked. This tractor has 12.4 tires which are larger slightly in diameter than were the 10(11.2) on which the speeds shown in Sherman data were likely recorded. Tractor has loaded tires and rear wheel weights also. I doubt if this makes much difference on speed though. Mr. Bob
