On my '48 8N the 6 bolts on each side from the seal retainer to the outer end of the trumpet housing are different. The 4 side bolts have 6-sided nuts toward the trumpet end; At the inner end, against the seal retainer, they are round-headed, unlike bolt heads. The other 2 "bolts" are not bolts and nuts, but cap screws (or cap bolts) on each side. Is this standard or farmerized? When I get them all out (per Dan's earlier suggestion) how do I tighten the "round-heads" in reassembly? Thanks in advance. Angelo

Yes, two are cap bolts and the other four are studs.
