I picked up a used 30" dirtscoop for $125 today, it sort of looks like a howse model but not exactly.

I tried one scoop before it got dark. Is there an optimum angle to cant the scoop at so it fills up more than another angle? I was using it in forward mode and it filled up about 1/3 of the scoop and then the soil in front just pushed along in front of the scoop, building up.

Here's a pic of the scoop as I was taking it out of my truck.

Looks just like my scoop. Made by;
International World Agritech Corpotation in Bethel, Ohio
Now out of business when I checked last.

My 8N will fill it up full to overflowing with dirt.
If I knew where the picture was of it doing that, I would post it.

Gotta get me a boom, wow, sure will be able to use one. Believe it or not, it'll help the dirt move up it the scoop if the front edge is sharp and no rust in the bucket, kinda like a plow working better when the steel is shiny instead of rusty.

I had to raise the bottom hitch points on mine to dig down far enough for me. I use an adjustable top link and play around with it to figure the right angle. Dirt falls out if I have to carry it over bumpy ground. Need a hydraulic top link. (%^) HTH

PS you got a decent deal.

Nice pic... I got to get me a boom pole. Try tightening up the top link. Should make it cut deeper..
