Were the original rear wheel rims painted silver instead of light gray like the hubs and front rims? Thank you

JMOR...That takes the cake for uuuuugly!

I was at the local Ford/NH dealer to get some Argent Silver for the rear rims on the 8n I am restoring. Have seen pics on this site of rims panted this color that looked really good. Dealer looked at me like I was from Mars. Said he had never heard of the color. We went through all of his color samples and sure enough none were Argent Silver. Guess I will just find an acceptable silver from the Van Sickle ag line at Atwoods.

Thanks Dave. Would it be acceptable to paint new rims the light gray or should they be painted the cadnium color? I am restoring to original as much as possible but not for show.

Rick, most folks on the forum say you can paint them any color you want .... it's your tractor. Do a search of the archives here, and you'll get a lot of opinions. Eastwood Co. makes a good cadmium paint in a spray can. I think Krylon may have a similar "color". Good luck.
