Ok buddy jsut bought this 52 8N wondering what things to do. It runs well but I told him to chg the oil and filter. It doesn't have a thermostat.

Should he chg the antifreeze, upper and lower hoses, thermo, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, condensor,
tranny fluid ?

Or just run it if it runs well ?

Thanks for the ideas and help he doesn't have a comp so im the go between.

Do your buddy a favor & print the link below, "50 Tips" for him. Tell him to read #25. That explains why the engine needs a t-stat. Also, #39 will tell him what manuals he needs.

When I first got mine I changed:

Oil and filter (6 qts)

Transmission fluid (5 Gal)

I also added a thermostat.

Checked my radiator fluid to verify freeze/boil point and then top off radiator to 1 inch below the top of the radiator.

In my mind, this was the minimum that needed changing as I didn't know it's age.
Everything else has been used till it broke and then replaced.
