Tried to remove my lift arms from the diff to fab up a stabilizer bar this weekend and one side spins freely and seems to have a little fluid around it. How are these attached? Do they press in? Threaded?

Well, it just gets better...
Thanks for the pics dunk.
Sorry Dunk, it's an 8n. I belong to a truck forum that encourages your vehicle description and modifications in your signature to speed up question and answers. Others don't like it, I think because it slows the loading for dial up or appears cluttered. I didn't see much of it here, and I goofed anyway and assumed they would all be the same. I'm gonna put it in my sig. anyway since there's not a lot to add yet anyway.

Don

Well, tomorrow I'm gonna try to go pick up a john deere. 3 pt. snowblower from a friend. Might be on the big side, it's funnel shaped and single stage. Instead of an auger, it looks like flail blades in line with the pto shaft from the picture? That should help make use of my lower horse power than the 60 it came with. Should relieve some ramming of the pins a bit. When the time comes, he's confident he could weld up the hole and redrill it the right size for the pin if it's sloppy. He's been welding truck frames and industrial equipment for 30 years. He's in Kalamazoo if needed... shameless plug intended. He alsoseems to be confident on welding the cracked diff case for me. Seems to think makeing a little hook in the beed at the end of the weld is better at preventing the crack from returning, than drilling the ends of the crack.

No where do I see what tractor we are talking about here.

If it is an 8N the holes are tapered.

Beware.. if it is loose enough to spin freely and seep.. it is loose enough to start ovaling that hole it fits in.. once it wallows that out enough you will be in for a bigger repair.

There's a keyed "castle nut" INSIDE the differential housing.
