carb float

ok my old carb floats somehow slef crushed themselves in the carb. i bought a new float the other day and it did the same thing. they dont have anyholes in them and will still float. i have been using starting fluid to try and get the tractor starting.

Carb floats can be pretty thin these days. however, You would have to have a high % of water in the bowl to damage one by freezing. Blowing the carb out with compressed air is usually the cause of float collapse. Starting fluid sure could do it but I actually have never known it to have done so. N's actually don't have enough compression to make starting fluid practical to use, you likely have some tune up or compression issues if you need to use it.

If not freezing water in the gas...

Could it be possible that it backfires, and crushes the float?

125 pounds of air pressure shot in to the fuel inlet will do the job.
