We have two large holly trees - I looked out the window today and they are full of birds (mostly robins) just gobbling up the berries - the berries have been there for months and look no different than before but obviously something must have changed or the berries have reached a certain stage of ripeness that now the birds want to eat them.

The jays are not touching them nor any of the smaller birds - just the robins that I can see at the moment. Now I know where all the poop is coming from that is all over my car right now!

Andy, Thank God for spring then because I seen one today down here in South Louisiana. Talk about some good eatin sha. When I was a kid I shot three hunnerd in one afternoon with my pellet rifle. Brown them suckers in a pot and make gravey. Get some Pork N Beens and yah got (((Rice N Gravey N Pork N Beens N Robin))). They come down here for the Tallow tree seads. For as I'm concerned they can have every darn tallow sead in this whole darn world. Maybe we shouldn't have eaten all them birds, we'd have less tallow trees to fight. Robins are them little yellow and white birds Huh?

Britcheflee, My grandmother had a crab apple tree. Robins did about the same thing, eating fermented apples. They were very noisy and probably slightly intoxicated. Umm, intoxicated. %^)
