Wondering if the PTO lever would cause that if it was bumped or getting sloppy?

Make sure the blade isn't catching on the tire. If it's at the right angle it may be catching. The ripper on my box blade cost me a week old rear tire. Still make me mad to think about it. HTH

You may have a problem in the differential with it making a popping sound. If it were the brake on one side the other side would spin the wheel.
Don't keep on trying to make it go. You could damage the differentail housing beyond repair.

Remove the left wheel, axle and axle housing and then inspect the differential spider gears inside the differential and look good at the four shafts that are sandwitched inside the carrier. Also inspect the ring gear and pinion for damage.

Take a close look at the right brake pawl. If it's not stuck, get the rear wheels off the ground & spin them by hand one at a time. Post back w/ any more questions; lots of folks here can help you fix it.

Sounds like hydraulic lift is working. But, is the right brake locking up maybe? Press down on the brake pedals and see if they 'feel right'.

Maybe you could block the front wheels, put tractor in neutral, jack the rear wheels off the ground and see it the tires can be spun by hand.

Maybe so, but the man asked a legitimate question & deserves a response, not a smart@ss comment.
