If you are haveing any type of starting proplem start with fuel filtration we don't take our tractors to the gas station to fill them up we bring the fuel back in a can witch often has dirt in it,your tank also has to be clean along with your sedament bowl and screen if we all would look at keeping our fuel clean most of the queastions of starting would neaver be on this forum.

R.G.M. Well you see this is the problem, ya'll don't drive em to the station. I ride my tractors to the station all the time. I get all kinds of comments on my mode of transportation there. City folk just don't get it, they always want to go way too fast everywhere. If I had a horse and a buggy I'd go to town via horse and buggy. Git out there fellers and git some seat time this weekend, even if it is on the road!!!!

Mark..... .....

Mark, In my part of the country, it would cost me about seven bucks to get the 8N to the filling station and back, and I don't consider my home county all that "remote." :-)

Colin

I won't ever forgit the red Farmall, I rode so many hours on when I was just above a toddler.

"Use Clean Fuel, Keep It Clean"

The man that rode me on that Farmall, his Mother in Law, had taught me to read most anything at the ripe ole age of 3 Years old.

God Bless her heart.

She died not long after teaching me to read.

Especially no problems since I cleaned, and coated the bottom (outside) of my gas tank, and all of the pin holes in it with 60/40 soldier, using a oxy/propane torch.

NEVER try this at home.

This is only for IDIOTS that ain't skeered of gitting blown up, cause they understand how to do this safely.

Not for the faint of heart either.

Batteries NOT included.

Only at participating dealers.

But do you know how to clean a rabbit, or a squirrel for some dumplings?

My '49 8N is supposed to have 3 screens in it, one in the gas tank (MIA) one in the glass bowl (nearly brand new), and one in the carb elbow (nope never seen one there)

I bring my gas in, in jugs.

I nearly never have a problem, since I have been all the way thru it.
