read on another site of people killed when tractor flipped over or rolled over, man it makes one think ! Will having a backblade on stop a rear tip over or will the back blade just buckle the arms ?

I guess it could still flip sideways, great something else to worry about

Using that logic..... that means if you actually manage to get to the airport... you had better NOT BOARD THAT PLANE!
A back blade will not protect you from a tractor flipping over onto you. The Ford N series has no DOWN hydraulic pressure and the flipping tractor will quite happily continue on over on top of you.

You cannot simply 'use your head' and be fine.... unless you use your head to THINK about each and every operation you perform and do not try new, dumb, untried tasks for which your tractor was never designed.

Tractors are dangerously deadly. Very experienced, life-long farmers get killed by them every week.

Think about it, the worst part of the trip is OVER... GET ON THAT PLANE...

We aren't dropping like flies from tractors killing us, now are we?

There just are "acceptable" ways to die, it seems... like traffic, but airplanes and tractor accidents get the headlines...

Your talk about: "Tractors are dangerously deadly" is a great way to get the GOV'T to step in and regulate, you KNOW how you want THAT!!

Like I said, get your head in the game... you'll live a long time. duey

Don't count on anything helping. Use common sense. If it don't feel right don't do it. David.

As in most ventures,if it does'nt feel safe it probably is not. Even if one is lucky and gets away with something 99 times the 100th time might kill you, so it's just not worth it. If I have to go up a steep grade with heavy implement on three point I feel safer backing up. Fluid filled tire lowers center of gravity that helps on side slopes. I pull from front bumper if pulling log or similar weight up hill. If tractor flips on side slope or ditch I'm not sure one could bail off over fender and wheel because it would come up so quickly. I'm getting a new tractor with loader so I'll have to get feel of it because a loader with weight will increase center of gravity so much. Best to stay on level ground. It does have ROPS. I'll have to find room in my shed because I can't part with my two old N's! Bill

Use your head, keep your foot ready for the clutch, and HAVE A PLAN! If the tractor goes THIS way, I'll go THAT way... take charge of the situation. Keep your HEAD in the game.

Just plan to do your best.

You'll live to a ripe old age.

I agree with the others.. yeah.. some 3pt implements may help stall a backflip.. though something may break or buckle.. just depends.. won't help a side flip..

I set all the wheels on both my N's as far out as they can be set. Makes me feel safer and is safer. Ron

Heres what can/will happen if you put a tractor on a slope going side ways. Only thing that saved the guy was the tree and he still went to the hospital for a busted up knee

A back blade may help some,it is not fool proof. Caution should always be used in operating any equipment. Stan

Like old said, they could, but it's not highly likely. I'm not gonna say never cause you could turn any moving vehicle over given the right circumstance but a tractor with a blade, scrape, disc, etc has the advantage of a "wheelie bar" effect. Just be smart pulling stuff & don't get on a bad slope sideways, that'll make you pucker a little!

In theory it will but things can/do brake so yep it could still flip over. Now that I have said that I have been saved more then once by having something on the 3 point when the front end comes up but I would not relay on it
