Does anyone have a simple wiring diagram for a positive ground original 6 volt 1942 Ford 9N tractor. The diagram in my shop manual sucks. This is my final step in the restoration and has held me up for 2 months.

When I check for power with a test lamp I get a strong bright light at the terminal block and on the left side of the resistor (terminal block) I have no power on the right side of the resistor. (left and right facing the front of the tractor) Could I have the wires to the cutout relay hooked up backwards. Or what else could be wrong?

Thanks
Alex

One side (likely where you get strong bright light) is power from the ignition switch. The other side feeds the coil. If the points are closed, much of the battery voltage is dropped across the resistor & might not be enough to light your light..... ...but, if you turn the engine over, the points opening & closing should make your light blink on & off.

Are you looking for more of a pictorial of where the wires run or a schematic?

Did you check your manual? Good pics in there..

these tractors have just about the most basic electrical system you can get... a starter circuit, charge circit, ignition circuit, and perhaps a lamp circuit.

Yes, the manual sucks . That is the only weakness in the manual. Would help if it was in color and not hidden in the harness.

Still, it gives you a basic idea of what hooks to what.. not too many feet of wire on these old girls.

Alex;

Try this one. Should work for ya. Except, Do not use the lights wiring. It's not good to run the lights through the ignition switch.
