I bought this 621 tractor . Has NO 3 point and was thinking of installing one. Would the 8N or NAA lift fit my tractor ? I saw one off a 601 that had selecto speed, would that work ? Mine is a 4 speed . On these 601's do they use the diff. lube for hyd. oil ? Also I have a Dearborn loader with front mounted pump, and the hyd. oil is in the frame.

rbtklee said: (quoted from post at 12:07:53 03/21/08) it is a 49 8n, and I took the pump apart and all the springs seemed to be ok, and I didn't really find any trash in there either, but I couldn't tell if the valves were any good or not.

There isn't a lot to that EX valve. It is basically a cylinder of metal moving in a bore that when moved toward the rear of tractor (during lift), covers a hole/slot in wall of bore. Then to drop lift, the valve (cylinder of metal) is moved toward the front of tractor to uncover the hole/slot, thus allowing the oil to exit (dump) from the piston. Until worn, that is a very tight clearance, typically less than 1/1000th inch, so it doesn't take much to cause it to stick.

ZANE said: (quoted from post at 08:18:47 03/21/08) A sticking valve/s is a possibility. Also there is a spring that retracts the control valve/s and if it is weak or broken you will never get it to work right until it is fixed.
Need to know what model tractor it is too to give better information 9N/2N or 8N. The older lift has a different return spring than the later 8N.

Zane, this is rbtklee's second thread on this problem. He has 8N and all his other posts are found here:

rbtklee said: (quoted from post at 23:31:41 03/20/08) I had the problem with the lift not lifting any weight, and then not going back down. Well now the lift is lifting strong, but it still wont go down. I released the drain pipe plug and it immediately went down, so does that mean my exhaust valve is not working properly, and if so can you buy that part only?

It is likely just stuck or the passage to it clogged. Replacing isn't in the cards until you have manually moved it and/or made sure the passage to it is clear.

I agree with the others that the any of the 100 series will work however, there are some other things you need to check out. Does your tractor have the pins for the lower arm to attach too. Do you have the 3 pt pump and manifold and does the transmission housing have the tubes for the manifold. Just some other things to thing about.

Yeah , I was thinkin' I'd find a "donor" tractor and get everything I need. The lower pins are there already so I won't have to remove the trumpets anyway.

Andy,
I'm sure the hyds from an N wouldn't fit. Not sure about a Jube/NAA
The hydraulics from any of these tractors would fit 600,800,601,801 and the 2000,4000 (4 cyl) would fit.
One from a Select o Speed would fit.
Too bad you don't have a 3 cyl Ford as I have the complete hyd system from a 3400 that I am parting out.

Any of the 600 series will work. The jubilee/naa will not work as it has external hydraulic lines. 9/2/8n's will not work as they are shorter arms and internal pump. As far as a 800/900 series for parts you'll have to ask some one else. John

Im not sure what a 3400 looks like. May be interested . Would like to find some wide tires like they used on mowers . Also does the hood look anything like my 601 ? I need the center opening part , and was thinking of putting a thousand series grill (without the cyclops) on mine.
