Fellows, There is an FORD 3000, on ebay right now, not to far from our country place for sale. It is gas, and evidently the hydraulics are not working per description. My question is in regards to the PTO, does this models pto work independently of the ground speed of the tractor, or is like the 8N? Thank you for your help.

Fordfarmer, Yes that is the one, near Tyler, with a smacked up front end. I would keep my 8N that I have only had for 11 months (newbie), but for part of the brush clearing I need a tractor that could move slowly and have a higher RPM for the brush hog, and perhaps for tiller use later. Thank you, Steve

3000's had 4 different trannies available, some with, some w/o live pto. Are you asking about the one near Tyler with the smacked-up front? 4-speed, non-live pto.

Russel, My 3000 (gas) has live pto and power steering. A good tractor but the Holly carb is not my favorite (cold starts).
