'48 8N steering arms leaks. Used string graphite packing stuffed between arms and housing covers. OK quite a while, then read on Forum re C/H grease. With small tube adaptor siphoned about 1/3 pint gear oil out. Put in zerk fitting and 1- 1/2 tubes C/H till seeped at base of steering wheel. Arms leaked oil again. Another 1/4 tube grease till seepage at steering wheel again. Now leaks oil again at arms. Will more C/H eventually force all oil out and stop leaks, or just live with it? Don't use the N much and have lots of drip pans. (Will post re my brakes job later.) Thanks again. Angelo

Tanks Soundguy and Billy Goat. I'll keep it full of C/H grease; hopefully, in time all the gear oil will be out. Angelo

If it had oil still in it when you put the grease in, you will get seepage leaks like that as the grease and oil mix and thin.. but if you just keep it pumped full now and then.. all the important bits will get lube... just keep a rag with ya to wipe doen the bellhousing before use if the 'wet' look bothers ya.

When I did mine I put in corn head until it started to come out under the steering wheel. That get's every thing lubed and forces every thing else out. Billy
