Went to an large consignment auction yesterday. Had about 60+/- tractors (all make and sizes)there and about 700+ bidders. I keep thinking about putting a few more dollars into my 8n, but what I saw there, keeps me wondering if I will ever see a return. Anyways....all the tractors ran and were in various condition. Some had newer tires, almost all the tin there, some needed some TLC....1 - 9n with sherman trans. and loader ave. $1,700 1 - 9n below average conditon w/sherman $1,050 1 - 8n with loader $1,300 2 - 8n front mount distr. $1,100 each 1 - 8n with side mount(1950)this was the nicest of the bunch with newer tires and new paint. $1,750 1 - 8n I didn't stick around for - very rough shape. 1 - Ford 2000 (early style) all new tires and repainted, very nice! $4,900 1 - Ford 2000 (1972?) diesel $3,900 and other Fords 3000, 4000 didn't catch all the selling prices as they sold in 2 rings. Now the money was there as saw several of the big JD go for over $40,000 and one went for $78,000. 2 JD B tractors one went for $1,050 (nice paint but the tractor was old!) and the other one was rebuilt with all new tires. This tractor sold for $2,050 but the owner/seller said "no sale" as he wanted min. of $2,900.(OUCH) Several IH C's M's H Super C, all went between $1,000 and $1,350. My neighbor who rebuild tractors for a living (mostly older JD's) told me the market for the older (pre 1960) tractors has softened, don't know what to do with mine now. Hope I didn't put anyone to sleep with this! :^) Rick
