It seems to me that my governor is not running the proofmeter cable. If I remove cable and spin it by hand, it registers on the proofmeter....hook it up to governor, and it doesn't. Any ideas?

I think the cable at the gov has some of it broken off inside because the end is wiry and frayed like. However, the end has a squared off last 1/2 inch. When I push a dentists tool into the governor, I get little chunks of wire....do I need to disassemble the whole thing to extract it?

Phipps..... ..since yer proofmeter works by hand spinning the inner flex cable, does yer governor spin the inner cable when NOT connected to the proofmeter??? The inner flex cable gotta fit the governor squaredrive socket. Is the governor end of yer flex cable "square" or is it broken-off???

I really have a difficult time looking down the internet cable to see, you'll haffta do it yer self. ..... ...respectfully, Dell

Isn't there supposed to be a sort of rollpin slotted thingy pressed into the back end of the governor shaft to drive the tach cable?
