Everyone knows that there are street gangs roaming the roads and streets, of just about every nook and cranny, of the US.

Below, is a pic. of our type of street gang, you might come upon, if you are traveling our roads.
It is recommended that, you don't stop to converse with these punks!!!!!

They do look to be a tough bunch. I didnt see any tattoos or doo rags :-)

I have seen only one bear in the wild in my life. It was a black bear up by Walden. I was cutting firewood at the time and was a little shocked.

We went to Yellowstone for our honeymoon in 91 and never saw one bear. I hope to make it up to the Glacier park next year to try again.

I'm going to do an OT response to your OT post.

Neat picture. I just turned 65 and for the last several years have had what I know is an incurable itch to see the west. So probably next summer, ('09) my wife and I will take the trip and one of our "must see" states is Montana! I can't wait!

I"ve never seen that many at once, Gary, but I did have one in the pasture walking down my hand line while I was on the front porch, not more than 100 feet away. The next day, I found where it had bedded down in tall grass about 400 feet from the house. Never knew he was near. We live along the Missions in the Grizzly Mangaement Area on the Reservation and we see plenty of black bears but the grizzly seem to be pretty secretive. Not more than a mile away is a place where they concgregat in the Fall and last year there were seven Griz there. The fire we had in 2005 seemed to disrupt the bears in 2006 but they were back in 2007. i don"t know of anyone around our neck of the woods that has ever had a problem with a griz. The black bears are more of a problem but they haven"t been for us, yet!
Thanks for the pic.

Never saw any MT street gangs but I can assure that they are just N of the border too. Saw them near Waterton Lakes but the Canadians seemed a little more subdued. Those MT bears look like they are just out looking for trouble! Was trying to get a pic of a bear in a brushy canyon above Raton NM when a ranger stopped and wanted to know what was going on,(Ted Turners private property) ranger said it was a grizzly and I thought so too but by the time I got back to the camera it was gone.

G-P;

The thing that hit me first about that pic. is, the fact that you hardly ever see Griz. in a group like that!!!!! Strange!!! :shock:
The habitat is changing tho, and we will prob. be seeing more strange things with the wild animals, soon enough.

Gary :) JMO

Agreed, since I live in FL where we have no Griz I'm not aware of their range. Seen a lot of them in AK and some in the NW states, 3 in a gang near Waterton and curious about the NM bear. Could Turner be bent on moving Grizzlys around along with his wolves?

Dancing bears filmed in the wild

Remote cameras document how bears find relief ... and communicate

The research is part of a larger study to estimate the population size and distribution of bears in northwestern Montana using genetic analyses of the bears' hair samples.

Gary:

Last August, we had a Black Bear in the yard & saw scat in the yard all summer long here on the eastern plains of Colorado. Never saw more than one at a time here. I keep my garbage locked up and when I'm done with the grill, I burn it off to keep the temptation away.

Let's see if we can get 3-4 of the guys to come up & see you at the same time & call it a convention.

Morning Jim;

Yep, they do that just anyplace they want to!!!! No one seems to want to stop them.!!!! :lol:
Don't forget to let me know if you are going to be out this way, this summer!!!! Lookin' forward to it. I think Dan in CO, might come up, in the last part of July or August.

If ya bring the motorhome, you can just hook up in my upper drive to elect. Then ya won't have so far to crawl.

BTW: we don't have ducks, but I'll see what the dog can conger up for ya to slide in!!!!! :lol:

Gonna' teach my ducks where to p**p in the woods so I can still take walks in the evening. The duck "street gang" looks a bit less threating your gangs, however.

I didn't look close enough! Those are grizzes. No griz in Colorado, but lots of black bear. There have been claims of griz sightings in SW Colorado, but no proof.

Danny;

After the fire season we had last yr., we are expecting to see a lot more Griz. this yr. The food chain is moving down the mountain. Where the food chain goes, the Griz will follow. We actually had a Griz right in town last yr. Fish and Game had to sedate and re-locate him.

We have always had a pretty high rate of Black bear!!! But not too many Griz.

Gary :)
