Trying to get everything ready for paint. What color was the fuel tank painted from the factory when tractors rolled off assembly line?

To be precise (and I just learned this myself) the tanks were terned plated, which is like tin plating, not cadmium plated as I always thought. Regardless, the closet paint color is probably a dull silver.

Duck....the gas tanks were cadmium plated, but mine had lost most of it's plating, so I went ahead & painted it the same gray as the hood.

BTW, Thanks for the input on the boots.

Jeff
