Anyone out there able to describe this Drive bushing which is supposed to be in the end of governor shaft to run the tach cable? Does it drive into a hole in the end of the shaft, and is the ID squared off? Could it fall out? I suppose anything's possible. Thanks

I have a new cable coming from N Complete nextTuesaday. I am almost sure that my old one is broken off.

If anyone has em available, could someone please post a close up picture of these mysterious tabs or pins or drive bushings with slots or squares or whatever? My cable has no guts in it and there doesn't appear to be any way to hook anything to the governor or the proofmeter other than the threaded ends on the cable.

I don't know about Phippsburgh, but since I've never seen a complete unit, I'm having a rough time visualizing how this is supposed to work.

Looks like a 5/16 roll pin
3/4" long
O.D. 5/16
slot bout .090 tho
pin agout .070 thick

the GRK10's I have are made out of aluminum,,, run about $5.00 apiece,,, the last one i mailed to a poster here the USPS figgerd out a way to tear the envelope and loose the pin,,, I had to make a indestructible envelope for the next journey,, lost my arse on that'n

Try and make one out of a 5/16 roll pin,,, or drop me a email and I will ship ya one

From what he has posted, I wonder if he has the correct tach cable, or if his has a SQUARE end intead of the round end with the tab? (Governor end.)

Here is a link that shows a picture of slotted spring pin that you are looking for.

If you unscrew your tach cable from the governor, you should be able to see the spring pin.

The pin that you need as about 5/16" X 1 1/4" long. The cable end is made to fit into the groove cut into the spring pin and drives the cable to operate your tach.

I'm recalling that it is basically a "rollpin" with just one slot, and the correct tach cable has a round end with a single "tab" that engages in the drive pin's slot.

It's been a while since I've messed with one, though!

I have a new tach cable one the shelf... I'll take a look later.
