Copper Wire
After having dug to a depth of 10 yards last year, New York scientists found traces of copper wire dating back 100 years and came to the conclusion that their ancestors already had a telephone network more than 100 years ago.

Not to be outdone by the New Yorkers, in the weeks that followed, California scientists dug to a depth of 20 yards, and shortly after, headlines in the LA Times newspaper read: 'California archaeologists have found traces of 200 year old copper wire and have concluded that their ancestors already had an advanced high-tech communications network a hundred years earlier than the New Yorkers.'

One week later, The"Atlanta Journal and Constitution" , a local newspaper in Atlanta Georgia reported the following:

'After digging as deep as 30 yards in cotton fields near Newnan in Coweta County Bubba Johnson, a self-taught archaeologist, reported that he found absolutely nothing. Bubba has therefore concluded that 300 years ago, Georgia had already gone wireless.

Dunk: do you know how copper wire was invented? It was from two lawyers fighting over a penny!

Bubba had to do an experiment for his 6th grade science project. Bubba decided to record how far a bullfrog could jump. He got a notebook, a jackknife & a big bullfrog. He sat the frog on the ground & said "Jump frog!" and the frog jumped 4 feet. He wrote in his notebook: "A frog with 4 legs can jump four feet" Then, he took out his jackknife & cut one of the frogs legs off. He sat the frog on the ground & said "Jump frog!" and the frog jumped 3 feet. He wrote in his notebook: "A frog with 3 legs can jump three feet". He then cut off another leg. He sat the frog on the ground & said "Jump frog!" and the frog jumped 2 feet. He wrote in his notebook: "A frog with 2 legs can jump two feet" He then cut off another leg. He sat the frog on the ground & said "Jump frog!" and the frog jumped 1 foot. He wrote in his notebook: "A frog with 1 leg can jump one foot" He then cut off the frogs last leg. He sat the frog on the ground & said "Jump frog!" and the frog didn't move. He yells "JUMP FROG!" and the frog doesn't move. He writes in his notebook: " A frog with no legs is deaf".

Apparently, looking back thru things tonight, I got this one from Hobo, in email, and must have edited it some.

It is amazing how this CRS works, and what one seems to be able to find new every hour or two...

Is it a curse, or a blessing???

Might have been the whiskey, might have been the gin, might have been the 3 or 4, 6 packs...
