Early 9N air cleaner pics needed

I bought a through the hood air cleaner from John Smith quite some time ago for my 1939 9N as the replacement hood had this hole cut in it and I figured instead of patching the hole I would replace the air cleaner. Problem is, as I was taking a few pics to send to someone who needed a 9N air cleaner I discovered some differences that would make a big impact on fit. The air cleaner I took off has the stub that sticks out the side and attaches to the air cleaner pipe (going to the carb) coming straight out at a 90 degree angle. The replacement is angled downward. Also, this stub out on the original is directly to the side, the replacement is more towards the front of the air cleaner. I used my original air cleaner tube and test fitted each cleaner and the replacement will not line up with the pipe.

Also, another odd feature on the "original" is two round openings in the top cap that goes all the way through - I have NEVER seen this before.

Any pics of original early 9N air cleaners out there?

This came off a 9N parter I have. It had the hole thru the hood but not the pipe. The breather pipe you show looks different with the extra twist. Mine don't have that. HTH

Dan, I have a picture on Photobucket but that site isn't working right now. On the other board there is a link to my earlier posting showing my air cleaner which Don B said was origninal.
