2 different discs and what are the differences in the bearings regarding wear and quality?

Box frame: The disc gang axles are made of 1" square high carbon steel rods mounted on double thrust sealed steel bearings.

Angle frame: The disc gang axles are made of 1" square steel rods mounted on double thrust ring gray-iron bearings

sealed bearings are great untill the seal goes.. then the bearing dies almost immediately.

the grey iron bearings.. you just grease the snot out of them till they are worn slap out..

I don't have one for sale myself. The Baraboo disc is a nice disc---about $300 too much imho.

I know of 2 "antique" discs for sale.

Readstown, WI 8' Dearborn Flex-o-Hitch Lift Type for $300

La Crosse, WI 6' Love Tractor Co. Lift Type Disc. Needs Bearings---$175

If you want to travel that far, I will get you the name and phone # of the sellers.

Tim

I had the same problem here in Minnesota. Took me over a year to find one that was both reasonably priced and within transporting distance.

Good luck!
