My 8N starts ok. It requires an extra amount of throttle. It is struggling to run and has little power and can only travel a few feet then runs out of steam. My first attempt will be to replace the fuel, clean the carb and screens, and my next guess is the points and condensor.????? ????? ? It used to smoke for a few minutes after sitting for months but it's not smoking at all this spring. Any diagnosis ideas? Thanks.

Ron..... ...unless you added a product like "Stabel" to yer modern no-lead gasoline, you've done gummed-up yer carb over-winter. I predict a carb rebuild in yer future.

Yes, points gitt invisible contamination setting over-winter and need either cleaning or replacing. Try pulling a dollar bill thru closed points to polish them. Cheaper'n new points ($10)

Iff'n yer distributor is the 4-nipple frontmount, yer gonnna haffta pull yer distributor ennyways (2-bolt, 15-min job) to gitt access to yer points to polish them, might as well replace them now. Gap = 0.015". ($10, cheap) Condensers don't go bad over-winter, but they always included with points kit. But new condensers can be BAD outtta the box, so save yer old one..... ...Dell, yer self-appointed sparkie-meister
