nondem..... ..welding castiron is "tricky" at best, takes special $$$ rods and sloooow cooool down. Welding porous exhaust gas contaminated castiron is exercise in futility. While you can "braze" castiron (a different process than welding), braze MELTS at exhaust gas temperatures. The N's castiron exhaust manifold will glow RED HOT at nite. You doubt? burnie-burnie.

New castiron exhaust manifold, $50 (cheap), new exhaust clamp $5 (thick side down), new BRASS NUTS $2 (torque 27ft/lbs). DOING IT RIGHT is very cheap..... ...Dell

Looks like one I did a couple years ago. Still holding up well, and does not leak that so far. Make sure the weld is good and level - use a straight edge to level it, and it should seal up. I thought about getting a new manifold, but have heard horror stories on the new manifolds not fitting correctly, and figured it would be worth a shot.

nondem,You really need to replace that manifold when you can get one.It will leak at the block and if let go it will erode the block away.If it hasn't all ready. Also that weld will not last.
