Can anybody tell me where to a get a wiring harness for a 3 wire generator,or can I use one for a 2 wire generator. Thanks for the help

Puller..... ..iff'n you look at YT's 8N's wire harnesses, they both are missing the genny ground wire back to the 4-terminal squarecan voltage regulator. But you need to determine whether yer 8N has the 4-nipple frontmount or the 5-nipple sidemount and order accordingly. The RED wire (longest wire) is for the ignition coil.

The I&T FO-4 manual provides "color-code", but the harness wires are also appropriately length and terminated.

Many automobile gennys did NOT provide external ground-loop but relied on the integerity of automobile chassis ground to provide ground. I personally think it is IMPORTANT on old rusty tractors to have a reliable ground from the genny barrel 3rd terminal back to the voltage regulator base mounting screw.

Ain't NO LAW that prevents you from adding yer own personal ground like Ford intended. Justta PITA ..... .Dell
