Water pump seal

Does any one have a source for a water pump seal for an 8N? I bought a rebuild kit thru this site and damaged the seal during the rebuild. A part number that could be crossed so a local auto parts store could order one would be helpful.

A N, if you have the tools to make reasonably accurate measurements, you may be able to define ID, OD and Length. Alternately, take the parts into the counter of your local parts house. I don't know if you will have any luck, but maybe worth a try. Also, maybe online parts house.

It sounds like you may need some sort of punch or mandrel to keep from damaging the seal. hth

A Noyes..... ..you have just learn the HARD LESSON about water pumps. It don't PAY to rebuilt water pumps. You have just squandered $30 on a rebuild kit and a NEW water pump is only $40 (cheap). Sorry, to be so harsh..... ...respectfully, Dell
