Post of some time ago I stated my 8N was flooding when cutting/mowing grader ditches with the right side up hill or high. It was okay with the left side high.

Found the float tanks were imploded or crushed inward evidently by air pressure sometime in the past. The left tank (engine side) appeared a little more crushed. So when it was downward did not float as well causing the gas level to go high and flood. Replaced the float after trying to repair the old one.

Now have another problem in the next post about loping. Sounds like a two cylinder!

Make sure the mixture is correctly set and if it is, watch the governor rod to see if it is moving the throttle to cause the lope. There is usually a damper screw on the governor housing to add a little friction to the system to damp out oscillations in the governor. I don"t have a lot of experience with the 8N system so consult your shop manual.

NO damper on the Ford governor. That's a "Farmalittle" thing!
