Bill (and anyone else interested) - Got around to pulling down those hung-up eucalyptus branches. Here are pictures again, before and after, taken today. Decided horizontal branch was too wedged to pull straight out. Sawed close to where it was wedged by standing on pick-up bed. While sawing, when we heard the first crack, got a long chain wrapped tightly back from the cut. My 8-N, after switching positions a couple times, broke it free and the over-hanging end came down too. The one still hung-up in the tree with the branches on the ground required cutting lower branches off and pulling on it with the long chain. Wheel slippage a few times (no rear wheel weights) so changed angle of pull and finally got it down.

Main safety points as I see it: size up situation first; use a long enough chain; be aware of where the branch will fall; keep area clear of small branches so you can use different pull angle if need be; tell helper(s) to keep plenty of distance as never know when a falling branch or limb will snap back. And, of course, I pulled from drawbar under the differential. Went well, and it took only about three hours til all were down. Safety first, and hope this helps! Angelo.
