TSC (and this site) only carry the post type... An original unit in good working condition would be fine, too, so long as the face is in good shape.

If you're in no hurry Dennis Carpenter is supposed to be making reproductions sometime, or so I've heard.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I'll either try to scare up an original, or use the post-type, which looks more like the original.

So to use a terminal-style ammeter, just cut the wire and attach to the posts?

es, NOT an electrical engineer - I flunked the "smoke test"

Ed..... ..yep, thats just about it. Use good INSULATED ring terminals. Since they're zero-center they can be installed "backward" but don't hurt 'nuttin'. Just swap terminals. Simple, eh?..... .Dell

Ed..... ..I once ran across a source for "inductive ammeters", they were large sized for industrial applications. I lost the "bookmark", sorry. They really would NOT do what you are asking for ennyways.

Ammeters are one of those parts that are used and ignored until they quit working, then are replaced. The likely hood of you finding a "good" used inductive ammeter for yer N-Dash is NOT good. Butt'cha never knows about ebay stuff.

And surprizingly enuff, the 2-post ammeter is a "trick" voltmeter ennyways..... ..Dell, retired calibration lab engr
