OK, so I lurk in the background & just listen. I forget who said to break the bead on a rear tire, to drive the truck up on to the tractor tire. It works!

I've found that a run of the mill handheld air chisel works real good to break the tire bead loose too.... just in case a pickup truck isn't handy. The curved chisel blades do a good job and don't tear up the rim.

original N rims were hat style..

Came off my 1947 2N. I hit a stump & put a tear in the sidewall & through the tube. The tire is rotten, so am getting a new one. The rims were on the Beast when I bought it last year. What do the "hat style" rims look like?

Hobo:

You are right, the rim had no rust & looked factory new inside even though the tire may have been original! I guess there was never any fill in these tires & Colorado has a very dry climate.

Been a long time since I got lucky, Hobo...

Fact is it may have been a lots longer since I been *good*...

Anyhow...

There is this lesson, that may help some folks, somehow, along the way...

My wife has been great. In just three years of marriage, she's gotten me to stop drinking, and stop smoking, taught me how to dress well, how to enjoy music, and painting, and fine literature, how to cook gourmet meals, and how to have confidence in myself. So I'm getting a divorce. Frankly, she just isn't good enough for me.

The problem with back tires is most of the time, they are not heavy enough.

I've done it many, many, many, times...

On smaller tires, you may need a 2x8, 2x6 or something, especially if you don't have a 4x4, but then you can always use the back tires, they are a little bit harder to get just where you want them though.

I wasn't the only one that said it.
