When I fire up my 8N the smoke fills the shed. After about ten minutes it slowly goes away to just a trace coming out the pipe. Just tuned it up. It has always done this. Do the valves need adjustment?
Oil getting into somewhere and then having to burn out after sitting? Rings would make it smoke all the time. Any suggestions?

I had the same problem last year. Found out it was a head gasket, and the smoke was water/antifreeze getting into the cylinder. Like your, it lasted about 10 min then slowly went away once the engine heated up. Have you had any loss of coolant? Worth a look, and not a hard fix. Good luck with it.

Thanks! I'll check the coolant to see if it's down.
