Finally got the new tire mounted and all the paintwork done on the wheel and rim. I like the paint scheme & will apply it to the entire tractor once all of the oil leaks are fixed & the scrub oak is all cut down. I don’t want to mess up a new paint job by running through that tough scrub oak.

Sean:

It is a 12.4 X 28 super all traction II. From the invoice: "7099717 Farm Tractor Tire 12.4 X 28 DOT# 3A6H 0607".
Price before tax $256.99

The tire dealer couldn't do the mounting, so I had the local JD dealer do it. Cost to mount: $50

The Firestone store wanted $25 to dispose of the old tire, but I lucked out & the county was having a Spring chemical roundup. I had the old tire in the truck to bring it to the Firestone store when I stopped at the roundup & they took the tire for free!

Dan in CO said: (quoted from post at 20:41:45 05/01/08) Yes it did snow here about 5" today and that is after 82 yesterday! We haven't mowed any new grass yet but it is up. I have mowed for the neighbor, some leftover thistles 6' tall.

The tire is a 6 ply, not sure of the model, but cost was $278 with tax. The local Firestone dealer had never sold an ag tire before this one.

What size did you get? I like the 12.4 on my 9n.

Not bad I priced a Firestone and he sent me this email..

11.2-28 Traction Field and Road 4 ply Tire only is $265.00 ea.

Mounting is $35.00 ea.

Service call depends on where if applicable.

Taxes are 8.25% if applicable.
