Sean, wouldn't an early 39 have smooth hubs & a different grill? Seems I heard some of ya'll talking about that one time.

No authority here, just guessing!

Not uncommon fror them to be replaced with riveted ones.

Gary:

While there are a few "issues" with this tractor, it is in pretty darn good shape. If it is a low number 39 or 40, I would be interested. She should be able to get 2K to 3K for it, depending on the part of the country she is in. I don't suppose it is in Colorado?

Dan; I have not heard from her on return, but as soon as I do, I will let her know you might be interested, if the ser#, is in the ball park, and she lets me know what part of the world the tractor is in!!!

Taste and prices vary dramatically around the country. For what it is worth I saw an unmolested 9n with original paint--tight steering and hubs, ran nice--go at auction in Southwest Montana on Saturday [05/03] for $2100.00. I liked it enough that I was on it to fifteen hundred.

Your mileage may vary

Notice the brackets from a front mounted Dearborn snow plow hanging on the front axle. Would the blade go with the tracor,I wonder? I have a Red 1940-N the identical color. Jolayne has good tast. Grin

Jolayne..... ..thats a nice lookin' 9N/2N $2000-2500 tractor, with about 50-percent rear ag-bar tires. Gack..... I HATE makin' tractor value guesses 'cuz yer $4000 trailer Queen may be my $500 parts tractor.

Has some "nice" and interesting conversions. I can see the 12v alternator in pic#4. In #3, I can see a PH-8A spin-on oil filter conversion and a roundcan 12v sparkie coil conversion to deal with the problematic squarecan ignition coil of the frontmount distributor. And a NAA 3-terminal (maybe 4-terminal, eyes are weak) starter solenoid and probably a twist-to-start ignition key scheme 'stedda' jiggle-bar safety interlock starter switch.

Ain't 'nuttin' wrong with RED paint, better'n green'n'yellow or rusty patina. (grin) 'Course the self-appointed tractorally correct sphincterly challenged inspectors will have hissy-fitts 'cuz it ain't battleship gray allover. But I say its yer tractor, paint it enny color that pleases you ..... ...Dell, the 20/20 painter (looks good at 20ft or 20mph)

Morning Bob;

Besides the lights, I see quite a few changes made.!!!!

The oil filter has been changed to a WIX, and it looks to me like a 12 vlt. conversion, (alt. hanging on it, and round can coil used. I'm not too sure what has been done to the lift arm, area. I can't really see what that is in the drawbar area either!!!???

They are going to have to remove the flat bar, that holds the Wix, and the coil, so they can find out what the ser# is for that 9N. She said that they had not found out for sure What the year of the "N" is, but it was reported to be a 1939 Early vintage..... ..Hope so!!!!! It would be nice to find another OLDY, hanging in there!!!

Gary :)
