Let me know if you run accross one being parted out. I hear you have low humidity up there...Its sky high here!!! More so when we have a south east breeze coming in off the gulf of Mexico...that is most of the time....Someday I will get out of here and head north...

Haul it down here and we can work something out 8) Cast iron and rims are easy...Took some time and fiber glass and bondo to repair the tin on my 9N...It was doable tin to fix..... To bad Fred sat in a field so long...Probably weathered a hurricane or two if he spent many years down on the gulf coast...Nice soil down there I bet he did some plowing in his day...He will be safer up this way...Just need to find some fixable tin for him...

If you really want to dig into the gen model question, you need time on your hands & a visit to archives of nclub site for dozens of posts by don b & others.

You gotta look a lot, because there are a lot of twists, turns, back-track, etc, but in the end I believe there was one that said, in effect forget everything before, now this is it.

And if you trust my distillation of it all, then I think your "band all the way around" for tension adjust and 1-wire and maybe a few other indications that were covered means that you have a 2N10000 (produced starting ~1945).

He has a full set of Ford's blueprint/engineering drawings, so his info is what I would call as solid as it is going to get.

The rest is in understanding it.

SEAN;

According to what I can find in the parts manny, that genny (if it truly is a three brush) was used on 48-49 8N's prior to ser #263844.

The # you give (9N-101**-*) I think is the part# for the end plate of the genny.

Only # I could find and it was on the end plate. Its 3 brush has the high low adjustment.
